Yhil Terms of Use
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and the publisher of Yhil regarding your use of the Yhil iPhone application. Yhil helps miniature and garage-kit painters photograph each paint layer, label paints and techniques, compare stages, browse a local paint shelf, and export personal reference cards. By downloading or using Yhil, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You may use Yhil if you can form a binding agreement under applicable laws. If you are below the age of digital consent where you live, a parent or guardian should review these Terms and supervise use. Yhil is a personal hobby journal, not a workplace compliance system and not a marketplace for buying paint.
Yhil does not require registration or sign-in. There is no mandatory account, password, or remote profile. You can create projects and log coats directly on your device. Features that need device permissions (camera, photo library, or system tracking authorization) still depend on the choices you make in iOS dialogs and Settings.
You agree to use Yhil only for lawful personal journaling and reference purposes, including:
Suggestions from on-device analysis are aids only. Always verify brand, code, thinner ratios, and safety instructions against the physical bottle and manufacturer guidance before you paint.
Subject to these Terms, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Yhil on devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store rules that apply to your download. You may not copy the app for resale, reverse engineer it except where applicable laws expressly allow, rent it, or use it to operate a competing hosted service built from Yhil’s binaries.
While using Yhil you must not:
You retain rights in the photographs, project names, notes, and other materials you create or import into Yhil (“Studio Content”). You are responsible for Studio Content, including ensuring you have the rights to photograph models you own or are permitted to document, and that notes do not include information you are not allowed to store on the device.
By placing Studio Content in Yhil, you grant only the limited technical permission needed for the app to store, display, process on-device (including optional Vision-based suggestions), and export that content when you initiate an export. We do not claim ownership of your coat photos.
The Yhil name, app design, built-in paint guide wording shipped with the product, software code, and original visual assets are owned by the publisher or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of that intellectual property to you. Feedback you voluntarily send about Yhil may be used to improve the product without obligation to compensate you, to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
Yhil runs on Apple platforms and may rely on system frameworks (including camera, photos, Vision, and tracking authorization). Brand names of paint manufacturers appearing in the paint shelf or OCR candidates are used to help you label hobby materials; they remain the property of their owners. Yhil is not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers unless expressly stated in a separate notice.
Links or references to external materials, if any appear in a given build, are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party sites or policies.
We may update Yhil to add, adjust, or retire features, fix defects, or respond to platform requirements. Not every device will receive every update at the same time. If a change materially affects these Terms, we will post an updated version in the manner we ordinarily use for legal documents accompanying the app. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by applicable laws.
Painting involves solvents, aerosols, and tools that can pose health, property, or finish risks. Yhil does not replace manufacturer safety data, ventilation practice, or your own judgment. Color swatches, OCR readings, and AI suggestions can be wrong. Exported cards are personal references, not commercial color-matching certificates.
Local storage can be lost if a device fails, is reset, or the app is deleted. You are encouraged to export important references when you need an external copy. The app is provided on an “as available” basis; interruptions, bugs, or data loss may occur despite reasonable care.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws, Yhil and its publisher are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or paint-job outcomes arising from use of or inability to use the app. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to Yhil shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid specifically for the Yhil app copy in the three months before the claim or (b) a minimal amount required as a floor by applicable laws where a zero cap is not allowed.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers. In those places, limits apply only to the maximum extent permitted, and statutory consumer rights remain available.
You may stop using Yhil at any time by deleting the app and any exports you no longer want. We may suspend or end provision of the app or particular features if you materially breach these Terms, if required by applicable laws or platform rules, or if we discontinue the product. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms) continue after your use ends.
These Terms are interpreted under applicable laws and relevant regulatory requirements. If a dispute arises that the parties cannot resolve informally after a good-faith attempt, either party may seek resolution before competent dispute resolution bodies that have authority under those laws. Nothing in this section limits non-waivable consumer protections.
